In-Classroom Learning Continues at Minnesota School with Air Purification in Place

Legacy Christian Academy opened its doors for in-classroom learning in August 2020. The school community has weathered the COVID-19 pandemic with cautious success, protecting students, teachers, and staff with clean indoor air and safety protocols in place.

Watch how ISO-Aire has provided clean air technology at Legacy Christian Academy.

Eight months ago, Legacy Christian Academy proactively improved the indoor air quality on its PreK through 12th-grade campus by investing in clean air technology. Today, their results are impressive and illustrate the benefits of prioritizing purified indoor air as a critical piece of strategic COVID-19 mitigation planning in schools:

  • Legacy’s doors have remained open since August and in-classroom learning continues;

  • Since January 2021, five COVID cases have been reported; transmission was contained with no spread throughout the campus. In each instance, the individuals had contracted the virus outside the school facility;

  • Staff and faculty with chronic respiratory health issues, such as asthma and allergies, have expressed a relief in symptoms and are breathing easier.

ISO-Aire™ worked closely with Legacy's facilities manager, ProControl BSG, as well as Jake Mulvihill, Legacy Head of School, to ensure the school community would be protected and that Legacy could open its doors with confidence. The team installed a combination of six, ISO-Aire™ in-space RSF1000 units (engineered with HEPA filtration and ozone-free bipolar ionization) and bolstered the HVAC system with additional ionization. The dual approach offers added layers of protection in higher-occupancy school settings.

“The investments made to keep our students, faculty, staff, and families safe with indoor air quality upgrades has been one of the key factors in our successful in-classroom learning strategy during the 2020-21 school year,” explained Mulvihill. “Installing clean air technology to safeguard our school has been a win-win. I also credit our Legacy team for their vigilance in maintaining safe protocols, following our school and State guidance, and placing the health and wellbeing of our entire community at the forefront of our collective efforts.”

ISO-Aire helps improve air quality by capturing and destroying up to 99.99% of potentially harmful airborne contaminants such as viruses and emerging variants, bacteria, mold, dust, VOCs, and pollen. We are proud to have our powerful recirculation units strategically placed near Legacy Christian Academy’s music room, student entrance, sanctuary, and common areas where students, teachers and staff interact daily.
