HEPA Filtration Important Part of Smithsonian Environmental Campus Reopening Plan
The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) is a world-renowned, environmental conservation facility that focuses work in the Chesapeake Bay Area and is considered to be one of the most treasured places of the East Coast. With education programs and scientific research on its forefront, SERC was looking for a way to ensure the safety of its staff and visitors. The SERC team chose to install an ISO-Aire RSF300I, which is equipped with medical-grade HEPA filtration and ozone-free bipolar ionization to capture and destroy 99.99% of germs such as viruses and bacteria, allergens, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This unit was installed at SERC’s Philip D. Reed Education Center, which serves as a location for researchers, students, and teachers participating in environmental education.
“We are excited to see the improvement in air quality that the SERC observes inside its Philip D. Reed Education Center, with benefits that should extend far beyond that of protecting from COVID-19 and emerging variants,” explained Chuck Albers, owner and developer of ISO-Aire.
ISO-Aire was developed in response to protect communities and classrooms from COVID-19 and other illnesses and indoor air pollutants. With up to three layers of proven protection- HEPA filtration, ozone-free bipolar ionization, and ultraviolet-C germicidal technology -- ISO-Aire commercial air purifiers align with ASHRAE and CDC recommended COVID-19 mitigation strategies.
Besides the SERC, ISO-Aire is keeping the indoor air sanitized inside schools, fitness facilities, daycare centers, churches, restaurants, U.S. Military centers, senior living facilities and more.
