An innovative grant program in Ohio is bringing clean, healthy indoor air to the state’s senior living facilities. The application deadline for the COVID-19 Indoor Air Quality Assistance Program closes October 15, 2021.

Foundations Health, Ohio’s premier long-term care provider, is one example of a service organization that put CARES Act funding to good use and made a positive difference for their communities. With 57 nursing homes throughout the state, Foundations Health installed 25 ISO-Aire™ RSF500 commercial air purifiers utilizing federal grant funds. The in-space, portable units are equipped with 12-inch deep medical-grade HEPA filtration paired with ozone-free bipolar ionization to help safeguard residents, care givers, and families from transmission of SARS-CoV-2 virus and emerging variants.

Ohio’s COVID-19 IAQ program provides reimbursement for eligible applicants to help cover the costs of inspections, assessments, maintenance, and improvements to indoor heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to control the spread of the dangerous pathogen. It also provides reimbursement for secondary devices designed to destroy bacteria and mold and inactivate viruses.

  • Nursing homes licensed by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH).

  • Assisted living/residential care facilities licensed by ODH.

  • Adult day centers that are Medicaid providers in the PASSPORT, Ohio Home Care, or MyCare Ohio waiver programs.

  • Adult day support providers that are a Medicaid provider and have submitted a Provider Assurance Form to the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD).
